How Can You Help?

It takes a great deal of effort from a large number of people to keep our efforts going and successful.

Our biggest need is for Foster families! We do not run a traditional shelter like other animal welfare organizations. All of our dogs go directly into someone’s home, so we can help them adapt to retirement and get them adopted.

Another need we have is for people to help us talk about Greyhounds at Events! We often attend local festivals or host a brewery night where we educate the public about our hounds. Bringing your greyhound is great if you have one, but we also need friends who are willing to attend, hand out brochures, and talk about greyhounds!

If you would like to help, please click the “Volunteer Application” button below, complete the application and click submit at the bottom of the application. If you want to fill download and complete a volunteer application and attach it to an e-mail, please send to volunteers@greyhoundadoption.com. Click here for further contact.

Open Volunteer Positions:

Meet and Greets/Events Volunteering:

We are currently looking for individuals to commit 2 hours of their time per month to hold Meet & Greets at various locations across the Front Range.  If you love greyhounds and enjoy talking to others about the breed, this job may be for you!

In addition to our regularly-held Meet & Greets, Colorado Greyhound Adoption attends several of the fairs and festivals across the Front Range.  From time to time, we also have special fundraisers that require volunteers to staff.

Fostering:

Would you be interested in fostering a greyhound? Fostering plays an important role in the adoption process.  First and foremost, it makes another retired racer available for adoption.  If you are interested in fostering, please check out the Fostering page and fill out the appropriate information.
